Tamar Levine and the 11:11 Project

Two years ago Gallery Stock contributor Tamar Levine downloaded the Instagram application for her iphone and the 11:11 Project was born. Inspired by the new and efficient method of documentation, Levine decided to capture whatever she happened to be doing or experiencing everyday at 11:11 am. “The best camera is the one you have with you,” Levine explained in a recent interview with the Serial Optimist,  ”and Instagram felt like the perfect avenue for a project that by its nature required me to make use of the camera I always have with me – my phone. It’s been great to embrace the platform for what it is, fitting the goals of a project with a specific medium.” Two years and 730 photos later the project has finally come to a close. The collection of images allows for an intimate insight into the life of a young and talented artist while highlighting the endless capabilities of the Instagram application.
